THE COMPANY

HISTORY OF THE CLINIC

Dr Wayne Mahmoud (Osteopath & Acupuncturist) and Dr Louise Miler (Osteopath) are the two directors of the clinic. Both Louise and Wayne studied osteopathy in London at the British School of Osteopathy. They have over 20 years experience as practitioners. In 1994 Wayne and Louise opened their own clinic in Black Rock. This practice grew quickly and in 2002 Wayne and Louise opened Beaumaris Osteopathy & Acupuncture Clinic. In 2008 the clinic was renamed the OSTEOPATHIC HEALTH GROUP.

Since the clinic opened the number of practitioners has increased rapidly. Apart from Osteopathy, Sports Medicine and Acupuncture, we also have very experienced practitioners who offer Cranial Osteopathy; Visceral Osteopathy, Homeopathy, Biomesotherapy, Chinese Herbal medicine and Massage Therapy.

GROUP DIRECTOR

DR. WAYNE W. MAHMOUD, D.O. M App Sci (Acupuncture)

Wayne is a Director of the Group with his wife Louise. He graduated from the British School of Osteopathy, London in 1985. He was a clinical tutor there for two years as well as an associate in a busy osteopathic clinic in Epsom, Surrey. In 1987 he and his wife, migrated to Australia where Wayne took up a teaching position at the Phillip Institute of Technology, Melbourne. Since then Wayne has worked in several multi-disciplinary clinics and has been a clinical tutor and lecturer at Victoria University of Technology, Melbourne.

As well as working as an osteopath Wayne is also an acupuncturist. He completed a Masters degree in acupuncture from RMIT University in 2001. As part of his Masters Degree Wayne completed a thesis about the Acupuncture treatment of Insomnia. Wayne is particularly interested in the osteopathic treatment of sports injuries. He has also worked with elite athletes in many different sports including Rugby League, Soccer, Golf, Cycling, Australian Rules football and Athletics.

Wayne is the osteopath to Don Elgin-Paralympian. He has treated Don since 1999 and was part of the team that helped Don on his way to the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Paralympic Games.
